HIGHSPEED 3 (ΧΑΪΣΠΙΝΤ 3)

-Hellenic Seaways

ex-THUNDER (ΘΑΝΤΕΡ) of Fast Ferries (2019-2024)

Built in 1998 (age 27). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: None (under refit in Piraeus)

The high speed ferry THUNDER was built in 1998 in Australia, as the TURGUT ÖZAL for the Turkish company İstanbul Deniz Otobüsleri (İDO). She was deployed on the İstanbul-Bandırma line on the Marmara Sea. After serving the latter for 21 years, she was sold to the Greek company Fast Ferries, hence becoming their first-ever fully-owned high speed craft. She was renamed THUNDER and she underwent a conversion in Perama and Salamina throughout 2020. She began service in 2021 on the Piraeus-Syros-Mykonos-Naxos line on the Cyclades, where she also operated in 2022. In 2023 she was deployed on the Piraeus-Syros-Mykonos-Paros-Ios-Santorini-Heraklion line. After the 2024 season concluded, she was sold to Hellenic Seaways, and she was renamed HIGHSPEED 3, thus becoming the second ship in the history of the company to take that name (after the original HIGHSPEED 3, which operated for the company from 2000 to 2010, and she is now known as the MOROCCO EXPRESS 1 of the Moroccan company Africa Morocco Link). She resumed her service on the Piraeus-Syros-Mykonos-Paros-Ios-Santorini-Heraklion line in 2025.
