SUPERRUNNER JET II (ΣΟΥΠΕΡΡΑΝΝΕΡ ΤΖΕΤ ΙΙ)
-Sea Jets
Built in 1999 (age 26). Registered in Limassol. Current line: None (under refit in Drapetsona)
The high speed ferry SUPERRUNNER JET II was built in 1999 in France, as the GOTLAND for the Swedish company Destination Gotland, which was the new name of Rederi Ab Gotland when the latter rebranded itself in 1998. The first high speed craft to have been built for her company, she began service on the Nynäshamn-Visby-Oskarshamn line on the Baltic Sea. In 2003 she was renamed GOTLANDIA. In 2006, despite the arrival of the company's second newly-built high speed ferry, namely the GOTLANDIA II (today the GOLDEN PRINCESS of Golden Star Ferries), the GOTLANDIA continued to operate on the Nynäshamn-Visby-Oskarshamn line, but in 2007 she moved to the Visby-Grankullavik line, thus linking the island of Gotland with the island of Öland. In 2011 she returned to the Nynäshamn-Visby-Oskarshamn line, where she remained until 2016. In 2017 she was deployed on the Västervik-Visby line, while in 2018 she served the Nynäshamn-Visby-Västervik line. In 2019 she was deemed to surplus requirements by her company, and she was laid-up in Visby. She remained there until 2023, when she was sold to the Greek company Sea Jets. She arrived in Greece as the SUPERRUNNER JET II, and she underwent a refit in Chalkida. She initially began operations on the Piraeus-Mykonos-Paros-Naxos line on the Cyclades, before then serving the Lavrion-Kea-Kythnos-Syros-Tinos-Andros-Paros-Naxos-Ios-Sikinos-Folegandros-Kimolos-Milos-Sifnos-Serifos lifeline in place of the SPORADES STAR, after the latter saw her season being cut short after she ran aground in Syros. In 2024 she was deployed on the Piraeus-Milos-Chania line.
