SUPERFAST XI (ΣΟΥΠΕΡΦΑΣΤ ΧΙ)

-Superfast Ferries

Built in 2002 (age 23). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: Patras-Igoumenitsa-Ancona

The cruiseferry SUPERFAST XI was the eleventh and ship ordered by the Greek company Superfast Ferries between their establishment in 1993 and 2002. Her construction was completed in 2002 in Germany. She was deployed on the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Ancona line on the Adriatic Sea along with her sister ship, namely the SUPERFAST XII. Together with her sister ship, she became one of the most successful ships operating on the Adriatic Sea. In 2004 only, she was on the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Bari-Ancona line. Since 2014 she has been operating on the Patras-Igoumenitsa-Corfu-Ancona line. Following the sale of the SUPERFAST XII to the Italian company Grimaldi Lines in 2018, the SUPERFAST XI became the flagship of Superfast Ferries, while also remaining the only ship out of the 12 original cruiseferries ordered by the company that continues to operate for them. In 2020 she underwent a minor conversion in Perama, during which she was equipped with an exhaust gas cleaning system, thus becoming the first ship of Superfast Ferries to be retrofitted in such a way. In 2021 her funnel was damaged by a fire while she was docked in Patras, but it was quickly extinguished and she resumed service after she was repaired in Perama.
