MARMARI EXPRESS (ΜΑΡΜΑΡΙ ΕΞΠΡΕΣ)

-Karystia Lines

Built in 1985 (age 39). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: Lavrion-Kea-Kythnos

The conventional ferry MARMARI EXPRESS was built in Japan in 1985. She began her career as the NARUO for the Japanese company Koshien Kosoku Ferry, serving the Nishinomiya-Tsuna line before being acquired by the Greek company Karystia Lines (owned by the Alifrangis family) in 1999. She was converted in Perama, was renamed MARMARI EXPRESS, and she began service on the Rafina-Marmari line. In 2005 she underwent a conversion in Perama, whereupon her stern was upgraded and a new sun deck was added. As her company bought a new ship, the ARTEMISIA (now the PANAGIA SKIADENI of Dodekanisos Seaways), that year, she was transferred to the Lavrion-Kea-Kythnos line. She has remained there ever since.
