The landing craft KATERINA STAR was built in 2001 in Greece, having been ordered by the Spetses-based company Boufis Shipping Company. She was deployed on the Kosta-Spetses line, where she has gone to spend her entire career so far. Since 2008 she has been the only ferry that connects Spetses with mainland Greece, and is therefore an essential ship for the island.
