The high speed ferry HIGHSPEED 6 was built in 200 in Australia, being delivered to the Spanish company Trasmediterránea as the MILENIUM for service on the Barcelona-Palma line on the Balearic Sea. In 2005 her company was privatised and was renamed Acciona Trasmediterránea. In 2006 she was deployed on the Valencia-Ibiza-Palma line, where she remained until 2009, when she was laid-up in Sant Carles de la Ràpita. In 2010 she was sold to the Greek company Hellenic Seaways and was renamed HIGHSPEED 6, thus becoming the sixth ship to operate under the famed 'Highspeed' brandname. She first began service on the Piraeus-Serifos-Sifnos-Kimolos-Milos-Ios-Santorini line, before being deployed on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos line from the fall of 2010 until early 2011. She was then deployed on the Piraeus-Syros-Tinos-Mykonos-Ios-Santorini line. She continued to operate on that same line in 2012, before transferring to the Piraeus-Ios-Santorini line in 2013. She spent the next three years in this service, while also simultaneously operating on the Piraeus-Syros-Mykonos line from 2013 to 2015. Following the summer of 2016, during which she only operated on the Piraeus-Ios-Santorini line, and after 7 successful years in Greece, she returned to Spain after being sold to the company Naviera Armas. She was renamed VOLCÁN DE TENO in 2017, and she was deployed on the Motril-Melilla line on the Alboran Sea. In 2018 she was deployed on the Las Palmas-Santa Cruz de Tenerife line on the Canary Islands Archipelago. In 2019 she was deployed on the Algeciras-Ceuta line on the Gibraltar Strait. In 2021 she was laid-up in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, but she returned to service later in that same year on the Los Cristianos-San Sebastián de La Gomera line, again on the Canary Islands Archipelago. In 2023 she operated on the Las Palmas-Morro Jable line, before returning to the Los Cristianos-San Sebastián de La Gomera line in 2024.
