current OLIVER for Jadrolinija

Built in 1997 (age 27). Was registered in Piraeus. Current line: None in Greece, sold to Jadrolinija for service in Croatia

The conventional ferry HERMES was built in 1997 in Japan, as the FERRY TSURUGI for the Japanese company Nankai Ferry. She was deployed on the Wakayama-Komatsushima line on the Kii Channel. In 1999 she was transferred to the newly-established company Rinku Ferry, which had taken the delivery of her sister ship, namely the FERRY KATSURAGI. Both ships were deployed on the Izumisano-Tokushima line on the Osaka Bay, but their service lasted only a season due to the financial issues of Rinku Ferry. As a result, they joined Nankai Ferry in 2000, with the FERRY TSURUGI hence operating once again for her original owners. She was deployed on the Wakayama-Tokushima line, where she remained until 2019. Later in that same year, she was sold to the Greek company Kerkyra Seaways and she was renamed HERMES. She arrived in Greece in 2020, and she was converted in Salamina and then in Drapetsona, and she entered service on the Igoumenitsa-Corfu line on the Ionian Sea in 2021. Her introduction to this service proved to be very successful, and she was considered to be the best ship of Corfu. She became the flagship of Kerkyra Seaways, and she was by far the fastest ferry on the line. Following the completion of the 2023 season, the ship was sold to the Croatian company Jadrolinija, being renamed VELA LUKA. During her conversion in Rijeka in 2024, however, she was renamed OLIVER, and she began service during the summer on the Split-Korčula-Lastovo line on the Adriatic Sea.
