FREEDOM II (ΦΡΗΝΤΟΜ ΙΙ)
-Hydra Lines
Built in 2003 (age 21). Registered in Ermioni. Current line: Metochi-Hydra
The small high speed boat FREEDOM II was built in 2003 in Greece, as the KALYMNOS DOLPHIN for the Greek company ANEK Sea Lines. She was deployed on the Western Kos-Kalymnos line on the Dodecanese, and remained there until 2009, when her service ended after a fire coming from her main engine made her miss the rest of the summer season. Following this, the company replaced her with a younger and larger high speed boat, also named KALYMNOS DOLPHIN. As a result, the older KALYMNOS DOLPHIN was sold to the Greek company Hydra Lines. She was renamed FREEDOM II and was deployed on the Metochi-Hydra line, alongside her new fleetmate, namely the FREEDOM, which had started operations on that line in 2009. In 2013, the FREEDOM II was laid-up in Hydra and did operate for the entire season, but she was eventually deployed once again on the Metochi-Hydra line the following year.
