ELEFTHERIOS D (ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΟΣ Δ)

The small high speed craft ELEFTHERIOS D was built in Greece in 2016, entering service for Dakoutros Speed alongside her sister ship, the TAXIARCHIS D, and the slightly larger PELAGOS. The three ships had been ordered following the successful introduction of the first three small high speed boats (the IOANNIS D in 2013, and the PRESTIGE and the FANTASIA in 2014) in Santorini by Dakoutros Speed. Like all of her fleetmates, the ELEFTHERIOS D mainly operates between Santorini and the volcanic islands of Nea Kameni and Palaia Kameni, and she also helps transport passengers from cruise ships to Santorini. Two more sister ships (the THEOSKEPASTI and the KALLIOPI) were built in 2017, followed by the much larger MEGA STAR and SEA STAR in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
