EKATERINI P (ΑΙΚΑΤΕΡΙΝΗ Π)

-Fast Ferries

Built in 1990 (age 34). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: None (under refit in Rafina)

The ferry EKATERINI P was built in 1990 in Japan. She began service there, as the ROKKŌ MARU of Kansai Kisen, being deployed on the Kobe-Takamatsu line. She stayed there until 1999, when she was sold to the Greek company Fast Ferries, which at the time was operating on the Ionian Sea. She was extensively converted in Perama and was renamed EKATERINI P. She was deployed on the Igoumenitsa-Corfu line, being the flagship of the company until the arrival of the THEOLOGOS P in 2006, which was deployed on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos line in 2007. Due to the success of the latter on the line, Fast Ferries decided that after the 2011 season the EKATERINI P would be transferred there as well, thus focusing their operations solely on the Cyclades. The EKATERINI P was again converted in Perama, whereupon she received an upgraded stern and notably a remodeled bow. She was deployed in 2012 on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos line, alongside the THEOLOGOS P. In 2016 she was deployed on the Rafina-Tinos-Mykonos-Naxos line, where she worked very well. She was on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos-Naxos line in 2017, and back on the Rafina-Tinos-Mykonos-Naxos line in 2018. She suffered a major engine failure in Rafina in 2019, causing her to miss the entire summer season. She was repaired in Perama and in Piraeus in 2020, and resumed service in 2021 on the Rafina-Tinos-Mykonos-Naxos-Koufonisi line. In 2023 she again operated on the Rafina-Tinos-Mykonos-Naxos line.
