BLACK PEARL (ΜΠΛΑΚ ΠΕΡΛ)

-Saroukos Cruises

Built in 1986 (age 39). Registered in Kos. Current line: Kos-Kalymnos-Platy-Pserimos

The wooden pirate-themed passenger ship BLACK PEARL was built in 1986 in Greece, originally as a standard small passenger ship under the name NAFTILOS II for the Greek company Gerasklis Cruises. She performed daily excursions on the Kos-Kalymnos-Platy-Pserimos line on the Dodecanese. In 1994 she was sold to Dinoris Cruises and was renamed CALYPSO. In 2006 she underwent a major refit in Kalymnos, after which her upper outdoor deck was removed and her stern was entirely remodeled. She remained on the Kos-Kalymnos-Platy-Pserimos line until 2013, when she was destroyed by a fire while performing a daily cruise in Kalymnos. She was declared a constructive total loss, but she was eventually repaired in Kalymnos in 2015, after having been bought by Saroukos Cruises. She was eventually rebuilt as a pirate-themed passenger ship and she was renamed BLACK PEARL. She resumed service on the Kos-Kalymnos-Platy-Pserimos line.
