The small passenger ship APOSTOLOS S was built in 1997 in Turkey, as the NISSOS CHALKI for the Greek company Velis Lines, which is based in Chalki. She was deployed on the Rhodes-Chalki line on the Dodecanese, where she stayed until 2024. In 2025 she was sold to Sunrise Lines, and she was renamed APOSTOLOS S. She was deployed on the Chios-Çeşme line on the Northeast Aegean Sea in 2026.

The NISSOS CHALKI seen docked in the port of Kameiros in Rhodes. This went on to be the only picture that I had of the ship on this website under this name and under Velis Lines, as she was sold in 2025 to Sunrise Lines, for whom she began service as the APOSTOLOS S. Picture taken by my father, to whom I am truly grateful (8/2023).
