ANDROS QUEEN (ΑΝΔΡΟΣ ΚΟΥΙΝ)

-Golden Star Ferries

Built in 1998 (age 27). Registered in Andros. Current line: Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos

Considered one of the most impressive ferries of the Greek coastal service, the ANDROS QUEEN was built in 1998 in Japan, originally as the SILVER QUEEN for the Japanese company Silver Ferry, which is the brandname of the ferry division of the Japanese giants K Lines, called Kawasaki Kinkai Kisen Kaisha. She was deployed on the Hachinohe-Tomakomai line, where she stayed for 20 years. In 2018 she was inserted on the Miyako-Muroran line, while in 2019 she was placed on the Miyako-Hachinohe-Muroran line. In 2020 she was deployed on the Hachinohe-Muroran line, where she remained until 2022. That same year, she was sold to the Greek company Golden Star Ferries, which is based in Andros. She was renamed ANDROS QUEEN and she underwent a major conversion in Perama, during which her aft section was fully upgraded with the addition of new outdoor sun decks, while her indoor areas were fully refurbished. She began service in 2023, being deployed on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos line on the Cyclades, as the new flagship of Golden Star Ferries. Her entry to service was widely acclaimed, as she was lauded for her impressive indoor areas, her large garage and her service speed. In 2024 she operated on the Rafina-Andros-Tinos-Mykonos-Paros line.
