ALKINOOS (ΑΛΚΙΝΟΟΣ)

-Kerkyra Lines

Built in 2002 (age 22). Registered in Piraeus. Current line: Igoumenitsa-Corfu

The landing craft ALKINOOS was built in 2002 in Greece, as the AMALTHEIA for the Greek company Evoïkos Lines. She was their second newly-built ship in two years, following the OSIOS DAVID which was delivered in 2000. The AMALTHEIA was deployed on the Arkitsa-Aidipsos line on the North Evoian Gulf, and she joined the Aidipsos Ferries joint venture which included her company, Gavanozis Shipping and Aidipsos Shipping, until Evoïkos Lines began to operate independently in 2011. In 2013 she moved to the Glyfa-Agiokampos line, also on the North Evoian Gulf, and she remained there until 2016. That same year, she also performed some trips on the Agios Konstantinos-Skiathos line in order to transport additional trucks on the Sporades. In 2017, she and the OSIOS DAVID were sold to the Corfu-based company Kerkyra Lines, and were renamed ALKINOOS and MENEKRATIS, respectively. After a small conversion in Perama, the ALKINOOS began service on the Igoumenitsa-Corfu line on the Ionian Sea. She was part of the Kerkyra Ferries joint venture which included her company and 2way Ferries from 2005 to 2023.
